Roy's Ten Commandments of Personal Wealth:

"Having over 40 years on Wall Street, plus being only one of a handful of people who has experience in both the American Stock Exchange and the retail brokerage field, my goal of this site is to take much of the mystery out of investing by providing simple answers to your questions, with a touch of humor, about the complicated world of Wall Street, plus providing any financial research you might need and an evaluation of your portfolio by one of the top financial managers in the country."
    - Roy Lerman

I - THOU SHALT CREATE A SAVINGS PROGRAM
Without a savings program you won't reach your goals you'd like to achieve, I believe you should create a savings plan with 15 percent of your income.
II - THOU SHALT NOT SPEND MORE THEN YOU MAKE
I'm talking about debt, it is very difficult to get out of debt, when you spend too much, you are in danger of going into bankruptcy.
III - THOU SHALT NOT TRY TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS
Buy things for you and not for your neighbor or friends, if you can't afford it, then don't buy it.
IV - THOU SHALT LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF DEBT ON CREDIT CARDS
Try to only use no more then 50 percent of your available credit line on each credit card you have.
V - THOU SHALT PAY MONTHLY BILLS ON TIME
Pay your bills every month, this way you will keep a good credit rating.
VI - THOU SHALT AVOID GET-RICH-QUICK SCHEMES
Memorize this - "If its too good to be true, it usually is."
VII - THOU SHALT PROTECT THYSELF AGAINST RISK
I'm talking about insurance, such as health, life, and disability, to protect yourself and your family, if something happens, insurance can be a blessing.
VIII - THOU SHALT TEACH YOUR CHILDREN THE VALUE OF MONEY
Give your child a weekly allowance, then at the end of each week, have them tell you how the money was spent, and then comment on it.
IX - THOU SHALT PLAN FOR RETIREMENT
You have to plan for retirement no mater what age you are.
X - THOU SHALT LEGALLY PROTECT THYSELF AND THY FAMILY
You have to have a will or trust, if you don't, it will become a legal nightmare for your love ones.
